For instance, A Place Beyond the Pines was a great film, but viewers didn’t want to be left out of the “know” and miss the hits to see this. The box office results are often misleading to what should be considered for the next trip to the movies.
Do we want to see what everybody else is seeing and talking about? Or do we go to see what is worthy? If only we could get more screenings of smaller titles and have the same notoriety to trump the big guys.
What would get you to skip the lines at the screenings and the folks on their cell phones throughout the film in the crowded theatre? Free screenings? Widely publicized reviews? Friends to tag along with? We want to know.
That’s all for now. Please, read reviews and look beyond the large capacity screens for exciting and worthy movies at your local theatres!]]>

Iron Man wasn’t a let down, but it fell short for many. No more than 1 person applauded at the end of the marathon/midnight release of the show. What were we expecting…??? Something more than we got. Thanks Marvel. Thanks for the hype.
For those of you who saw Iron Man 3, were you expecting more comedy, action, drama, acting, or graphics? I suppose the trailers led many of us to believe we would get more, but who can blame the trailers? They did the job and got us in the theatre.
When we go to see a sequel or superhero movie, perhaps we are worked up to live out some of our childhood fantasies and ideas of how it all will look. Usually we are let down (think back to Green Lantern and a few others recently…you know what I am talking about now.)
What movies are you looking forward to? What are you expecting? What will you settle for? I am tired of disappointment. My ignorance of some story lines saves some movies for me, but the disappointing or joyous reactions of other “long time” fans let’s me know how the studio came through in the big picture.
Think big. There are sci-fi, super hero, military, comics, and more like Pacific Rim, Elysium and Lone Ranger. Good luck. Don’t let the studios tell you how the movies should play out. Continue to use your own imagination and just let them add some simple images for you to put the puzzle and pieces together.
See you at the next one —]]>
Synopsis: Set for release in summer of 2013, Star Trek Into Darkness is self-described as an explosive action thriller.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, the sequel to his 2009 movie Star Trek begins with a shocking act of terrorism, committed by someone from within Starfleet. In the wake of this act, the Enterprise is called back to Earth where Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) will defy regulations to lead his crew on a manhunt to capture those responsible.
That man may be John Harrison, played by Benedict Cumberbatch and described as “an unstoppable force of destruction.”
As the Enterprise crew warps into the middle of a life or death chess game, their friendships will be sundered, love will be tested, and sacrifices may have to be made in order for James T. Kirk to protect the only family he has left: the members of his crew.
